Chef Rui Carvalho

Meet Chef Rui Carvalho! Rui is born and raised in Edmonton from Portuguese parents. He has worked kitchens for 25 years, from Northlands, Edmonton Petroleum Club and Earls Restaurants as Head Chef for over 10 years. He was awarded top chef the last 3 years at Earls. He studied and obtained Red Seal Journeyman at NAITs famous Culinary program. Rui has been the owner and executive chef of Villa Bistro for the past 5 years with his fiancée Keltie. He is a proud father of 3 Lil ladies, avid sports fan, food and wine lover!

Chef Tyson Wright

Meet Chef Tyson Wright of Camrose AB! Chef has been in the industry for 21 years, working his way up from a dishwasher at a local Camrose restaurant to obtaining his Journeyman certificate and Red Seal ticket in 2015  through NAIT. Tyson has had the opportunity to cook for many well known names such as Premiers Steven Harper and Jason Kenney, and other stars. Chef Tyson cooks with a style that he likes to refer to as “Grandma’s kitchen”,  using components from southern style BBQ,  Italian and French cuisine along with techniques with a modern day twist. Throughout the years, Chef has won various competitions including Knife Wars in 2017, and A Taste of the Heartland’s Signature Chef in 2022.  In 2018 Chef Tyson made his way onto the Tomato Top 100 with his Whiskey Cured Ribeye. Chef competed on Food Network’s “FireMasters” which aired in Canada on April 30th, 2023. Currently, Chef is opening his own dining establishment located in the old Feedmill out of Camrose, AB. Marrow Restaurant & Lounge is set to open in August of 2023, bringing a unique flair and flavour to the Camrose culinary scene.

Chef Lindsay Porter

Meet Chef Linsday Porter! Born and raised in St. Albert AB, Chef Porter is now the Executive Chef of The Common Restaurant in Edmonton. Formerly, the Chef and Owner of London Local Restaurant in Edmonton. 

After graduating, Lindsay travelled to Europe for two months. Lindsay has worked with many charities such as Wellspring, and Mount Royal cookoff. Lindsay has competed on Food Network and won Guys Grocery Games as well as competing and winning Firemasters,  Beat Bobby Flay, Iron Chef Canada and most recently Top Chef Canada. Chef Porter has also filmed commercials for Knorr through Vice recently, and loves to be involved in events throughout Edmonton.

Chef Tamara Solon

Meet Chef Tamara Solon! Growing up in Edmonton, Tamara Solon was always fascinated by the variety of cultural foods available right at her doorstep. She comes from a close knit Ukrainian family where food was always the centre of any family function. She graduated in April of 2016 from NAIT culinary school and has been a proud member of the Chartier family since day one.

Chef Tamara is dedicated to building strong relationships with local farmers, producers, and artisans. Her menus are designed and built with their long term sustainability in mind, and believes strongly in profiting with farmers (not off them).

In 2021 Tamara was featured in The Food Network’s “Big Food Bucket List” starring Jon Catucci, and has received multiple accolades including “Best Brunch” by Avenue Magazine in 2020. She is now a partner at Chartier, and is working on the next business venture for the company – Mother by Chartier which is set to open at the beginning of May 2023. She is an active member of the NAIT Culinary Arts Advisor Committee as a way to promote change within the Hospitality industry.

Chef Jessie Chambers

Meet Chef Jessie Chambers Executive Chef of The Glens Grill, Owner of Farm to Table Catering Inc & The Graze Food Truck from Wetaskiwin AB.

Chef Jesse Chambers got his culinary career started as a dishwasher in a local restaurant, working his way up through the ranks & fell in love with it. Jesse is Red Seal certified as well as a second year Sommelier with the International Sommelier Guild.

His first Head Chef position was at Huckleberry’s Café, where they won the award for best restaurant in the Alberta Parkland. He then went on to several Executive Chef positions. At the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympics Jesse was a Sous Chef for the Whistler Olympic Centre before moving on to open Stockmen’s Chophouse in Camrose which took second place in Alberta’s Best Steakhouse by Travel Alberta.

Jesse opened Farm to Table Catering inc. with his
beautiful wife Sarah & recently built a brand new, state of the art food truck called Graze. In 2022, Farm to Table Catering won Ag & Food Business of the Year for Wetaskiwin by The Leduc, Nisku and Wetaskiwin Regional Chamber of Commerce.
